We have been passionate about the outdoors since 1966, developing camping equipment that has sent thousands of campers, caravanners, hikers, DOFE adventurers and explorers confidently on their way.
We’ve been part of historic expeditions – such as the first successful British ascent of the South West Face of Everest. We’ve introduced generations of young people to outdoor adventure through our partnerships with the Duke of Edinburgh’s Award for over a decade.
What do you do?
Vango continues to build on a rich heritage of innovation in camping and caravanning. We understand that sleeping well is key to getting the most out of your camping experience. From darker bedrooms to heated sleeping bags and mats, we’ve reviewed every detail and feature connected to a good night’s sleep so that you wake up feeling refreshed and energised – Sleep Better with Vango.
Our vision: To be the inspiration for outdoor adventures.

Why do you work with the DofE?
We have partnered with the DofE for over a decade through the Recommended Kit Programme to provide countless opportunities to transform young people’s lives. We share the same values, its open to all backgrounds, cultures and abilities, a DofE Award can be a game-changer, raising young people’s aspirations and opening doors to employment whilst bringing together communities across the UK.
What do you think the DofE gives to or does for young people?
The DOFE offers young people a chance to explore their potential, learn new skills, meet friends and stretch their imagination. It also gives them unique experience for their CV, the chance to explore the outdoors and create memories that last forever.
How are you working towards being more sustainable?
Vango are no strangers to striving for greater sustainability and have been pro-actively doing so for over a decade. Our Spares and Repairs Service refurbished your outdoor gear to give it a second life of adventure. Where anything is beyond repair, all component parts are recycled for use in future repairs, as well as upcycling as much of the remaining fabrics as possible, dramatically reducing landfill.
This includes tent fabrics and sleeping bag fillings being donated to Sheltersuit Foundation, to be upcycled into immediate shelter for the homeless. Our sustainability ethos has reached new heights this year with the launch of the new Earth Collection of tents, rucksacks, chairs and sleeping bags, which have been produced using environmentally friendly fabric crafted from recycled single use plastics.
The Earth Collection will recycle the plastic waste equivalent of 1,861,134 plastic bottles (500ml) this year and will grow to the equivalent of 8,250,000 plastic bottles (500ml) in 2022.
We hope you enjoy our sustainability mission within this series of posters, each one highlighting our various sustainable efforts, as well as giving you an insight into our purpose, vision and values and sustainable business practices.
