Complaints

Concerns regarding delivery must be raised with organisations in the first instance. We will only investigate when the LO’s or AAP’s complaint process has been exhausted. Find out more information about the complaints process here.

Residential Approved Activity Provider (AAP) Licence – Policies, Procedures and Requirements

If you’re an AAP, or wish to become one, your organisation must have the following policies and/or procedures in place as a requirement for the licence:

  • Insurance
  • Safeguarding Policy
  • Complaints Procedure
  • AALA licence (If applicable – see Licensable Activities for more details)
  • Adequate systems to protect the health and safety of participants and staff
  • Relevant risk assessments and operating procedures (Health and Safety Policy)
  • Equal Opportunities (a policy that demonstrates you operate DofE programmes in a non-discriminatory manner that reflects DofE’s commitment to equal opportunities)
  • Data Protection (GDPR)
  • Emergency Procedures
  • Incident Reporting.

You must be a UK-registered company or charity to apply, and if you’re not listed on Companies House or The Charity Commission website, you must have one year of accounts before applying.?To apply for the licence, please email the completed application form and the supporting documents as listed in the application form to [email protected].

AAP applications are only being processed during specific application windows.
