The Peak District is a fantastic location for outdoor adventures with stunning scenery and easily accessible rocks, hills, caves and valleys to explore.
Our Gold DofE Residential base for camping courses is in the northern part of the Peak District in the village of Hope.
This Gold DofE Residential gives you the chance to try a whole range of outdoor activities such as rock climbing, abseiling, weaselling (rock scrambling), orienteering and conservation work. All activities include our experienced and friendly instructors, so you don’t need to have done them before.
You’ll enjoy a great week with a range of activities and experiences that are great fun but also look good on your CV, improving your chances of getting in to university.
Activities
Throughout the course of the week you can take part in a range of activities – don’t worry, none of these require any previous experience and they’re not compulsory – if you feel you can’t go abseiling, you won’t ‘fail’!
We’ll do:
Rock climbing
Abseiling from a 100 foot bridge into a river
Orienteering
Conservation work
Mountain hike and scramble -without a big rucksack!
Weaselling
Preparing and cooking a meal
