Complete your Gold Duke of Edinburgh’s Award expedition section with Rich Adventure.
This expedition is ideal for those with additional needs, disabilities, or long term injuries, who would struggle with an expedition that is focused mainly on journeying.
The team will choose a project for their team goal, and explore the local area, undertaking journeys that are an appropriate distance and terrain for them. Safety equipment and equipment for the day will be carried, but camping kit and dinners/ food for subsequent days can be left at camp or transported onwards to the next camp.
This expedition package includes:
Access to e-learning content that must be completed prior to the training event
3 days training & 2 night, 2 day practice expedition (5-9 July, near Swadlincote)
1 day preparation and 4 day qualifying expedition (29 August- 2 September, near Buxton)
Campsite fees
Group equipment such as tents, stoves and maps GPS tracking and emergency radios
Expedition support, supervision and assessment by a team of professional outdoor instructors who also hold pre hospital care qualifications
