Tutored by Andi Turner, British climbing icon and BMC access officer, this course is for those who seek adventure and would like to discover, develop or improve their rock climbing skills at the magnificent gritstone of the Roaches in Staffordshire. Andi has many first ascents at the Roaches and, living nearby, knows every inch and every pebble that the rock has to offer on every climb.

Working with Len Oakes (Rock Climbing Instructor and Director of Head for the Hill Ltd), you’ll be in expert hands as you safely develop your movement on the gritstone and develop the knowledge and techniques to attempt the many classic climbs that the Roaches has to offer.

Each day will present a new climbing challenge:- balance and agility to create fluid movement; reading the route; assessing your own fitness for climbing; belaying safely to look after others; safe placement of gear to develop lead techniques; tackling classic routes; developing advanced skills…and so much more.
You’ll have BBQs, bonfires and music in the evenings and make lifelong, like-minded friends.
