We team individuals and small teams together to complete their expedition and, with the support of our friendly instructors, ensure participants have a fun and safe expedition.
Following huge success last year we will be offering 7 day Gold expeditions again in 2025. We hope our expedition format and locations will make Gold expeditions more accessible for participants in the South of England and those not keen or able to travel further afield to tougher terrains.
Participants may attend the full 7 day programme or join only for the expedition section they require – a 3 day training and practice or a 4 day qualifying expedition.
Participants opting for the back to back expedition must be aware that the consecutive days of walking will be physically demanding. Participants must have a good fitness level to undertake the expeditions and prior experience of DofE or hiking would be a real benefit. Those joining for only the practice expedition must check with the organisers of their qualifying expedition that the terrain will prepare them adequately.

Saturday 2nd to Friday 8th August 2025 + online team planning meet Wednesday 2nd July 16:30-17:30 – South Downs
Expedition Overview
Day 1 – Introductions, kit checks and DofE expedition framework training. In the afternoon teams will learn navigation before completing route planning. Teams camp overnight.
Days 2-3 – Practice expedition. Teams will become remotely supervised with further training as required. Teams camp each night.
Days 4-7 – Qualifying expedition. Teams will be remotely supervised and assessed. Teams camp each night.
