As a teenager rather than just sitting in the flats where I grew up ( I still did a lot of that as well ) I also did something different, hard, challenging & rewarding the Duke of Edinburgh awards Bronze Silver and Gold
One of my proudest days was being able to take my mum ( Valerie ) to St James palace where I met Prince Philip.
Can’t tell you how many times in job interviews prospective employers have asked about it and said they look for it on application forms

My girls are also on the road to achieving them too
