Hiking up Wyndham hill, rain in my face, gale blowing me backwards. Stopping to visit caves. The start of a lifelong love of hiking and camping. The DofE experience taught me to persevere. I stayed on at school sat and resat A levels, went to university, first in my family, and never left. Proud mum to two DofE award holders. It changed my understanding of what was possible for me.
