My Journey with DofE began when I was 18, I gotten the chance to do my silver DOFE with my youth club and it made an impact on my life, I met friends for life, my friendship grew stronger with my current friends while on DofE it’s an amazing experience and I would definitely say to anyone who has the chance to do a duke of Edinburgh award I would say go for it! It’s a lot of training leading up to your 2-3 days you are away but it’s 100% worth it, you get to explore places you would never get the chance to explore, you get to learn new skills, like how to read a map, or use a compass, or even the simple things like putting up a tent and brining down the tent, you also learn how to use the camp stoves you get, you also get to learn basic first aid, so if anything was to happen when you were out venturing you would know what to do! it’s an amazing experience and I’m so greatful of my youth workers that put me forward for my duke of Edinburgh and I couldn’t have done it without them, I was blessed to have completed my silver, I was never the one for camping but now I love it, I’m basically the leader when I go camping as I have experience, thank you for taking the time to read my story! :)
