HRH Prince Phillip leaves behind a fantastic legacy for young people with his DofE Award. I will always have fond memories of completing my Bronze Award in 2009 just as I had started college.
As part of my recorded hours, I got to volunteer at an animal sanctuary, I performed with an orchestra and became a keen tennis player.
In a digital world, the expeditions we had were a breathe of fresh air quite literally. Using our orienteering skills, physical endurance and motivation, we made it to the finish line together. It taught me a lot about resilience and teamwork, with a lot of light-hearted laughs and banter along the way!
I met some truly amazing people along the way and kept friends for life. I hope the Award continues to inspire future generations whether that be Bronze, Silver or Gold. We're all winners!
