Whilst the experiences both mental and physical helped my son, the benefits became apparent to me when he began applying for jobs. From filling out his CV, to completing on-line applications and to interviews. He was able to draw on and give examples of his experiences on DofE which fitted so well with the questions being asked and the criteria that employers were looking for. It can be hard as a young person to draw on life experiences and to give examples of challenges and skills that prospective employers are asking for when you have limited work experience- but the DofE enables this. It’s a fabulous legacy for Prince Philip and I’m so glad that my son participated .
