I was fortunate enough to complete my DofE whilst an active member of 2427 Squadron, Biggin Hill Air Training Corps (ATC) and achieved the Bronze, Silver and Gold Awards during my time there. The friendships I formed during my DofE experiences whether it was during the expeditions, the community
work, or the physical activities we participated in have continued into adulthood.

In July 1991 I, along with my parents, was invited to attend the 35th Anniversary of the Duke of Edinburgh's hosted at Buckingham Palace, attended by the Duke himself and Prince Edward and we spent the afternoon with others enjoying the afternoon tea in the sun listening to the Doncaster Youth Jazz orchestra and the Band of the Army School of Music (Bovington).

Throughout my life the values of the DofE have always remained with me, whether it's camping weekends away with the kids, helping others in time of need, or volunteering in the community (I am a voluntary football manager at Orpington Rovers FC) it is a scheme that will always remain close to my heart as it is something I believe has help me develop into the person I am today.
