The DofE scheme has given me great opportunities, both when I participated in it and beyond through employers recognising the value in someone having completed it.

It’s creation by HRH Prince Phillip was truly remarkable and so forward thinking. The opportunities this has given, and continues to give countless others is incredible. It’s whole ethos of recognising commitment, resilience and all rounded individuals, is as true and important today as it was when it was first conceived.

Participation can quite literally change lives, and the fact that employers view participation so favourably when recruiting is testimony to the value recognised in the scheme and the importance of good character in individuals.

HRH Prince Philip, The Duke of Edinburgh, is owed so much by so many by his having recognised the importance and value in creating opportunities for young people that last way beyond them participating in the scheme. Thank you your Royal Highness.
