My silver d of e was one of the most amazing experiences I’ve had, I made memories that I’ll have for a lifetime, from scrambling up rocks like the one in the attached photo to get good pictures, falling knee deep into a bog, being the last group to camp after taking a wrong turn and going off track for a while, to playing manhunt in the woods at the end of tiring days, it was certainly something that challenged me but it helped me develop so much as a young person, I improved skills that I now use everyday in my job and volunteering and I wouldn’t be where I am today if I hadn’t completed d of e. Through doing d of e I went on to becoming a lifeguard (joined lifesaving club for skills), helped teach youngsters how to swim (volunteered at a swim club), and won medals at local swim competitions (competed for swim club for physical), these allowed me to make friendships that will last a lifetime and began paving the way for me to start my journey to becoming a paramedic. Signing up for and completing d of e was one of the best decisions I’ve made, it’s helped shape me into who I am today and who I will be in the future and I wouldn’t change it for the world.
