I started Bronze DofE a few months before the first lockdown in March 2020. In those few months, I gained the skills of volunteering in my local community, assisting those who most needed help. When Covid 19 hit, volunteers were needed more than ever, and I was also able to appreciate my hobbies and the opportunity to exercise more. After a long time of waiting to do the expedition, I finally got round to doing the trial one. We had to put our tents up in a hail storm, but that didn't stop the fun! I was surrounded with laughter, and was with a great group of people, who I can now share my experiences with. DofE has not only helped me, but also those around me, and I am excited to see the benefits it has has on many generations to come!
