Although I have not yet completed my silver expedition, the other three sections of the award have strongly developed me as a person. I have developed a new sense of confidence in myself and now feel like I can do so much more than I previously could. I volunteered in oxfam charity shop which enabled me to interact with people who I usually would not, I was forced into an unnatural environment which meant that my personality had to adapt and grow accordingly. The physical section was the section which I most dreaded, however I tried a new activity which was an amazing and fun experience. The skill section enabled me to push myself to work for my goals and reach a successful outcome. Overall, I am so grateful for the DofE experience, it has been one of the best things I have ever done. I would like to the the Duke of Edinburgh for setting it up and helping to shape the lives of thousands of young people.
