I received my Duke of Edinburgh’s Gold Award from His Royal Highness at a ceremony in St James’s Palace in 1997.
In 2007 I joined SO14 Royalty Personal Protection the branch of the Metropolitan Police Service responsible for the personal security of the British Royal Family.
I had the pleasure to work with His Royal Highness for many years and attend several Duke of Edinburgh Award Events with him and His Royal Highness The Earl of Wessex. I would always wear my Gold Award badge with pride and it was always a good talking point during the events.
