I've been helping with DofE expeditions at all the schools I've taught at and it has never failed to amaze me how the children grow and change during the awards. The maturity they gain and the bonds they develop make a huge impact on their lives. They come back more thoughtful and more prepared for anything, and often some of our more challenging characters gain a new sense of purpose and focus.

It has been amazing to be able to spend time outside the classroom with so many young people - there are too many individual moment, from sheep invading one boy's tent in the mountains of Norway to evenings sat around the fire after a hard day's trek across the wasteland of Dartmoor. It has been amazing.
