I work as a Learning Support Worker for MacIntyre Charity in Warrington, Cheshire, supporting adults with Learning Disabilities and for the past 12 years we have facilitated the DofE Award to help our learners transition into adulthood.
I have supported many groups to do their Bronze, Silver and Gold Awards which has been the most wonderful experience watching their confidence grow and being part of their DofE journey.
We have had so much fun over the years along with tears and laughter! They have all made me so proud, it was difficult to just pick one photo but this was most probably my proudest moment in 2017 when one of my groups went to St James's palace to receive their Gold Duke of Edinburgh Award and i got to read their names out and meet Prince Edward.
I have another group that is in the middle of doing their Gold award now so hopefully things can get back to some normality and we can get out there and finish off their Expeditions and have some more wonderful experiences.
