I started my DofE journey with Bronze while at secondary school. I grew in confidence and made lots of new friends. I continued onto Gold and completed the expedition while at university. Two weeks of rainfall in 24hrs on Dartmoor definitely made it an adventure- I made friends for life and it really started my love for adventure and the outdoors. Memories that will last forever. Myself and members of my team enjoyed/valued it so much that we became part of the leadership team with the university DofE group. The expeditions were always so much fun, we would spend the week laughing, rain or shine! My DofE journey continued beyond my uni days and when I became a teacher I volunteered with my school group leading both Bronze and Silver groups and I continued to be involved. I am so grateful for the experiences and memories that DofE has given me.
