Sarah Elliott

I started the D of E bronze award in late 2020 and even in these few months it has completely changed my life- I do more exercise meaning I am healthier and fitter than I previously have been and I am learning new skills which will carry on benefiting me through to later life. It impacted my life in so many ways- I have learnt life skills such as baking and cooking as my skill which has made me more rounded in my hobbies and it has increased my creativity greatly. I have made so many friends during this time of doing the D of E, and many other relationships with my leader and the volunteers who very kindly have offered to help us during this. A challenge I have faced is during this pandemic, it has been hard to find things I could use for my physical, skill and volunteering, but through perseverance I have found ways of getting past it. My leader has inspired me because during lockdowns when it has been hard to gather energy and excitement in doing the activities, she has posted thing to help us stay focused on the target of completing it.
