As the parent of two DOFE Gold children - I remember with pride watching them at St James Palace collecting their awards.
Knowing what they had achieved and being invited to receive their award from the Duke of Edinburgh was a once in a lifetime time experience for them.
However, I’m sure many other parents overriding memory of DOFE will be the same as mine .... the smell that remained in my car for days after collecting them from Expeditions.
