Ros Porter

While I never completed my Bronze DoE award, I joined my Church choir as my "new skill" element. So began a lifelong love of choral singing as a soprano in my local Church choir leading to friendships with some wonderful people who remain closer friends to this day. It gave me confidence and singing with a choir never fails to put a smile on my face. I would never have been encouraged to join were it not for the Duke of Edinburgh and, while I never went on to achieve the award, the legacy remains with me. And with my children who are forced to endure my singing on a daily basis!
