The Duke of Edinburgh Expedition was an adventure into a landscape that became part of who I am. Hiking through Dartmoor we could feel it’s history all around us; we grew from just passive observers into participants in our environment and drivers of our own lives.

I remember seeing His Royal Highness during our award ceremony. The Duke of Edinburgh must have been to hundreds of these events, but from the beginning to the end he made it feel like this was the most important event in his diary and every single award given out that day, the most well deserved achievement he had ever presented.
