I wasn't able to take part in any awards at school due to having lots of hobbies and other time commitments already. So, when I had the opportunity to support other young people when I started teaching I jumped at the chance. I have since become and expedition assessor at all levels and met my wife volunteering with our first school's DofE programme. Long may the award continue and grow. Thank you Prince Philip for instigating the award all those years ago and inspiring so many generations of young people.
