Doing our expedition four of us used my two man tent one wrapped around smelly feet. Two carried the food one the canvas and the last of us the poles I carried the canvas. We started by climbing up Penyghent then walked to Dent via great Knoutberry hill then over Werneside and Ingleborough and back to Giggleswick School wournout as the hottest weekends that summer term when we camped at sent we were by a stream which were walked down and seeing a dead sheep in the stream we collected out water from above the sheep later teams copying our route did not see the sheep and were ill after there trip. I will remember the weekend for the rest of my life, left School that summer and started an apprenticeship as a ships engineering officer in the Merchant Navy Doing the awards helped me get that apprenticeship.I spent the next 16 years in the MN.
