Joined cubs at 8 and left venture scouts at 20 having achieved Queen Scout Award and Bronze, Silver and Gold Ten Tors and Bronze, Silver and Gold DofE. These were the best achievements in my life, more than my education or any career and I was honoured to attend St James's Palace to meet the DofE and Windsor Castle for Queen Scout Award. Thank you to everyone involved for all that you do for us, selfless heroes helping young people without prejudice, stereotype or judgement. My childhood is valued thanks to this award scheme. I went on to help with leadership for 10 yrs thereafter and taught young people overseas.
