Rebecca Lynch
I’d like to share my daughters story Rebecca Lynch .
Our Becky has a slight learning disability and autistic though she is high functioning .
Becky was given this fantastic opportunity to become involved with the Duke of Edinburgh awards through school and college as part of the life skills course.
My daughter was an extrovert until she started the course. I have watched our Becky develop into a confident young lady with the world at her feet.
While she overcome many obstacles she also achieved many great things that obviously developed her awareness and confidence to have a go at doing different things out of her comfort zone.
Becky took part in rock climbing canoeing, swimming plenty of walks around Wales and the Lake District which she thoroughly enjoyed along with learning how to erect a tent cook meals and look after others and to be part of a team.
I’m very happy to say because of HRH Duke’s of Edinburgh awards my daughter is no longer a introvert she’s a confident young lady who has a part time job as a dinner lady in a local school. We’re also supporting Becky in setting her own cleaning business up
I would also like to say Thank you to HRH Prince Philip for giving my daughter this incredible opportunity to develop the life skills she needed to be the fine young lady she is today.
As a parent I will be eternally grateful for what HRH has done for our Becky. and others who have a disability it’s fantastic that it’s accessible for all
May I pass on our sincere condolences to Queen Elizabeth for the loss of her husband and best friend x
May HRH Soul Rest in Eternal Peace
Kind regards
