Rebecca House

Teamwork activity and more...

We put up our tents... blindfolded while our teammate gave out instructions, we did a carwash and litter pick and had nice walks in Derbyshire and the Lake District. One day we woke up in a cow field and another we woke and made porridge and we did map reading and planned out meals and learned to cook on a trangia and I stayed in a hotel all by myself it was just round the corner from my house! In the gold award I got to visit St James Palace and my lookalike was in the painting which was weird. We met the Duke of Wessex and I wanted to tell him I woke up in a cow field. He goes flying, I tried that today I've been up in a plane today first time... bit irrelevant to the topic though. We also did voluntary work and somebody asked me if I was Eastern European whatever that is, I met some nice people and had lots of fun though. We walked through a bog and it was foggy so we had to yell at each other and use a compass which is hard. I like the Duke of Edinburgh because he's funny (and he links with the Queen), though I never met him, not even on gold he was away. How do you greet so many people all in a row? Anyway, also we learnt about natural plants like horses hoof fungus for fire lighting, I guess that's it.
