Rebecca Burton
I remember on my Silver expedition, my feet covered in blisters after walking through marshes and wanting to give up before going on to complete Gold. My ground where supportive and encouraged me not to give which I'm so grateful for.
As I was completing DofE through the Air Cadets I didn't know all of my team before I would be sharing a tent for 4 days with them! I met some amazing people who I'm happy to call friends that shared the experience.
After I completed my Gold DofE I was invited to collect my certificate in May 2018 at Buckingham Palace. This was a highlight of my cadet career representing my squadron in uniform and had the opportunity to speak to the Princess Royal.
Though the whole process of my DofE experience I am grateful to be able to learn new skills, meet people I wouldn't have otherwise met and challege myself further than I could imagine.
Thank you to His Royal Highness The Duke of Edinburgh for starting such a fabulous initiative!
