The DOFE has been a great experience as it helps build on so many skills I didn’t think was possible such as leadership, teamwork, problems solving, organisation, motivation , having the ability to work under pressure and communication. The DOfE award has put me miles ahead of other candidates when applying for college and jobs because I have these skills and it is an amazing award to carry. Due to the current times for COVID-19 I haven’t been my expedition and it was a challenge to do my physical as everywhere was shut and for my skills I had to make changes but managed to work through it and completed what could be done. For my bronze DOE for my physical I went to whitelee wind farm for my expedition and was amazing weather. For my physical I done netball that helped me learn new kinds of netball passes and helped me play better passes in real games. For my skills I made a pair of shorts, the skills I learned while making this product was using a sewing machine, cutting straight, being able to structure them together, thinking of other methods I could use if my current one didn’t go to plan. For my volunteering I helped out at an after school football club. This involved me sorting the children out into equal teams, working alongside children with special needs and adapting the lessons for them to be able to take part, supporting the children at games . I can’t wait to do my gold DOFE and carry on with the experience.
