My D of E history started with my dad (now 75) being the first person to complete his gold award in Lincolnshire and the whole school had a day off to celebrate! I completed my silver and gold at school and went on to become a Mountain Leader and involved in the award ever since! I saw both my children through their gold expeditions, my daughter went to Buckingham Palace 2 years ago and my youngest (20) has just completed his award. I also met my best friend at school through D of E we are now godparents for each others children! I am sure we have generations ahead of us to go still. It is simply life changing in so many positive ways.
