In 1957 I was in training at RAF St Athan learning to be an aircraft engineer, when the scheme came into being, I did the bronze and silver, but we were told the gold was in the pipeline but not set up at that time, consequently I passed out and I didn’t manage it. Needless to say during my travels in the RAF I have lost my card but I really enjoyed doing my bit.
