I was a recipient of the D of E gold award in 1973,as a member of the Warwickshire and Coventry police cadets. This organisation helped to shape my future life in so many ways. It taught me respect and responsibilty which went hand in hand with the career I had chosen.
I found that each of the sections completed,were really enjoyable,and designed to test each individual and take them out of their comfort zone. I just hope that the D of E continues well into the future giving millions of other youngsters guidance and the insight into life that we received. Thankyou Sir and rest in peace.
