DoFE is where my love for the outdoors began. It has shaped my passion for volunteering, team work and taking on every opportunity I am presented with.

The award has provided me with the opportunity to develop life skills that will forever be fundamental in day to day life as well as greater skills which have supported me in achieving my goals and aspirations.

My DofE experience has certainly been an enjoyable and very memorable event. From cooking disasters and 0 sleep to a 2am treks up surrounding hills to view insane sunrises. It certainly provided us all with memories that will forever be reflected upon for many years.

The thought of camping in the middle of no where, walking all day and having to be prepared for any weather at first didn’t “float my boat”. However, fast forward to a year later I am “munro-bagging” across Scotland, completing large amounts of miles on foot and planning adventures far and wide with my friends, family and DofE peers.

I can’t recommend the DofE award enough to anyone who is offered the opportunity. It certainly is a great experience and adventure that you will never forget.
