As a young teenager doing DofE sounded really fun and easy but with my fitness level and athletic ability I found the walks were a real struggle. However, having my friends around me and making memories made it all worth it and now 2 years later I'm proud to say I achieved my bronze award. It taught me to get out of my comfort zone and push towards something because it'll benefit you in the end. I really enjoyed gaining friendships with people who have been right there the whole time but never really spoke to and it will forever be an unforgettable experience. If their is anyone reading this hesitant to start DofE or any challenge ahead of them this is your sign to go do it, not only did it benefit my relationships with friends it also helped me become closer to my dad as we could go out on practice walks. I also had a great time volunteering as part of the DofE award as I helped out at my childhood ballet studio teaching young children with disabilities to engage and just have fun with their peers. I will always be greatful that the Duke and Prince set this up, may he rest in peace. Thank you Duke of Edinburgh :)
