I completed my Bronze DofE through school when I was 15, I am now working towards my Silver DofE, and hope to go onto my Gold afterwards. My most poignant memories of my Bronze DofE were during the expedition, in June 2019, it must have been the wettest weekend ever, we tackled with jumping over streams, all of us fell over in the mud at some point over the two days, we had to get over a stile where the dip leading up to it was all just a puddle and we had to jump over it onto the stile to get over, we battled nettles, getting lost, all going slightly mad and having conversations about "Why you get on a bus but in a car?", we turned up with a tent that had no poles or pegs and had to borrow a new one and carry an extra one home, we sang at the top of our voices at the lowest of points,we high-fived hay bales, replotted our way home as the River Severn had burst its banks, I fell over the guy rope to the other tent in the middle of the night and nearly brought the whole thing down, we brushed our teeth in the outdoors while saying morning to the dog walkers at about 6am, we laughed our way through it, and more. We made memories together that we all still talk about now, and have a laugh about now, I feel so privileged to have completed the first of three awards with such a great group of people, and I can't wait to do it all again with the next two, and make some more lifelong friends and memories. It's an experience like nothing else I've ever done, a experience that really makes you reevaluate your outlook on life, try different things, and become a stronger person that being mentally (and physically from carrying those rucksacks!) . Thank you.
