MY gold expedition was whilst at theOutward Bound School at Eskdale in the Lake District in March.We set off before all the others.The first night we camped by the tarn just below Scarfell peak.In the morning we were in a raging snow storm,which asleader I decided. it was too dangerous to continue our planned route in the peaks so we found a river and followed it down.When all wascompleted we were part of the mountain rescue team part of the public service requirement.

my parents had a Hilman Minx car and we drove to Buckingham Palace.We arrived at the entrance to the garden for the presentation when the exhaust blew. What a noise.Imagine the response of security!As a baby Police Officer I was very embarrassed
