D of E had a major impact on me growing up. It gave me a real sense of purpose and achievement at a young age. Learning to be self-sufficient during the expedition, and the importance of commitment when completing my activities are lessons that will stay with me forever. It fuelled a passion for the outdoors that contributed to motivating me to pursue a career in the military also. The D of E was one of the highlights of my time at school and I would encourage everyone to give it a go- you’ll never regret it.
