I wasn't initially enthused with the idea of DofE when I embarked on my Silver Award several years ago. However, looking back now after receiving my Gold Award, I can say that DofE has had a great impact on my life, both in terms of my confidence and skills. I was shown how far the body can be pushed physically and mentally through expeditions. My confidence increased through talking to people while volunteering, and I gained new skills. Although I never met the Duke in person, I can truly say that his vision and life has impacted me for the better, for which I am ever grateful.
