So proud to be able to say I am a bronze DofE award. I started volunteering at an adult club for Adults with learning disabilities. What started as a few months turned into a 20yr stint which only finished when I left the area. During that time I learnt social skills interests and also that those I looked after are just like everybody else.

Those skills stay with me now. Treat everyone equally regardless and especially have a very close bond with people with Down Syndrome

I would have gone on to get silver but the thought of roughing it wasn't for me! I even dropped brownies as it was too noisy!!

Thank you for the DofE award and for starting me on a path that would lead me to some of the best memories of my life.
