I was fortunate be do my Gold expedition climbing a mountain in the Himalayas with the Venture Scouts. It was an unforgettable experience that will stay with me for the rest of my life. I made so many new friends and even met my now husband on one of the training sessions. We have now been married for 27 years and have 2 teenage children. I learnt many new skills and life lessons from the fundraising, training and preparation as well as the actual expedition and time in India that I have been able to apply to many areas of my life, including my career as a nurse and my recent spinal cord injury. I know that I have the resilience, perseverance and drive to keep battling each and every day.
