I decided to take part in the award at a point in my life where I was suffering a lot in many ways and dealing with trauma I had experienced. Doing the award gave me something positive to focus on and really helped me mentally I'm so glad I took part I owe a great amount of gratitude to HRH Duke of Edinburgh because without the award I probably would have gone down a very bad path.
