On my Bronze DofE out of our training weekend, practice expedition and real expedition, only 2/6 of us completed all three walks! We had one girl who popped her hip out and was being sick, another who got heatstroke, a boy who got bad stomach pains, and a boy who had a knee operation so was unable to complete the real expedition. It definitely was a test of resilience and patience, but it didn't put me off as I went on to complete Silver and am now doing my Gold! The opportunity to do DofE has been an amazing experience, I have enjoyed being able to step out of my comfort zone and try new things. I would have loved to have been awarded my Gold award by the Duke of Edinburgh, but I'm glad he gave us the opportunity for the experience.
