Lisa Danthanarayana
My deepest condolences to her Majesty and the Royal Family.
Both my sons are Award holders; my youngest a Bronze, my eldest; Bronze, Silver and currently enrolled in Gold.
As new migrants to the UK the DofE programme gave us an enormous sense of connection to our new life here.
The programme and everyone involved; facilitated such a natural path for us to immerse ourselves in everything it means not only to be British, but to be alive; and to live a life where one is fully awake and connected - a life worth living.
There are so many stories, so many photos; just so much of everything during those DofE years. I I know if my sons had not been involved, they would have truly missed meeting the kindest, most amazing people, and that they would not been able to experience some of the greatest moments of their young lives.
We were deeply saddened to hear of the Dukes passing; but eternally grateful for the legacy that he leaves behind.
I know my sons will continue to go on to do great things in their lives; and I thank the Duke for being part of their journey.
May God Bless him on his final one.
