Lisa Benham
I completed Silver in 1980 through my school.
The expedition in the Brecon Beacons was an eye opener for 6 “city” girls. Crossing stiles and gates was a slow process, as we offloaded backpacks and negotiated the obstacle one at a time. Until a herd of cows showed an interest in us as we crossed their field...then we all flew over the gate, backpacks and all, landing in an undignified heap on the other side.
Biggest regret- not going on to do Gold!
Advice to recent participants- put it on your CV. I have always found it to be positive talking point at interviews.
