DofE shaped me. I was academic at school but I certainly learned just as much being outside the classroom completing the four sections of the award. After my Gold Award, I did my BEL Award so I could help train the Bronze groups. Never did I imagine training as a Mountain Leader and working in Outdoor Education 10 years later! The DofE Awards are more relevant now more than ever. We need to be resilient, brave, creative and kind with young people around the world working together to build a brighter future. Thankyou HRH Prince Philip for the DofE Award legacy which has and will have a positive, meaningful and life long impact on millions of young people like myself.
