Some of my all-time favourite memories with my friends are from when we were on DofE expeditions. From throwing strawberry bon bons from one canoe to the other on our bronze expedition to accidentally cooking pasta in a trangia that still had washing up liquid in it left over from the previous group, we all absolutely LOVED DofE. We would laugh for hours together while on expedition, and for hours after when recalling all the memories together. A highlight for me has to be on our silver expedition, when we were hiking in the Brecon Beacons on one of the hottest May bank holidays in years, and we found a spring of pure, fresh water coming out of the ground and all filled our water bottles up from it. It was probably the best water I've ever tasted. That, and many many other DofE memories, I will treasure for life.
