At 22 I didn't think I could enrol for the Gold Award, I thought I was too old and didn't have the time with a full time job. I was so wrong, completing the Award at 24 I can look back on everything I have achieved and be proud that I completed it especially outside of school. The expedition is the most fond memory that I will carry with me for the rest of my life, I was with a group of strangers that all shared the same drive and interest and were just the nicest people to be around. We shared so many laughs and tears while climbing up massive mountains in the Lake district but we enjoyed every second. I have made friends along the way that I can share these moments with and I will be forever grateful for the opportunity.
