I still think so fondly of my Silver expedition. Goodness me I don’t think I’ve ever had such good clean fun in my life. Highlights included finding our route went through a nudist beach, getting stuck in an impenetrable marsh, boil in the bag rice and crackers, and caterpillar massage lines as we tried to ease our aching necks and shoulders. As a teacher I have accompanied students and enjoyed it every bit as much. I teach SEN and love that the award is inclusive for all abilities. I always respect anyone who’s completed the award, and am currently starting to implement it at my current school. What a legacy, millions of happy memories and so many teenagers who’ve found out they can do stuff they didn’t think they could. Thank you, your Royal Highness, your vision has done that elusive thing that we educators dream of: made a difference. RIP
